Preston Dynamos are the oldest grassroots Sunday league football team in the county, and the only surviving founder member of the Sussex Sunday League. To celebrate their 65th anniversary year, we were enlisted for a full rebrand, resulting in a new club crest, kit designs, social media assets, storytelling and sponsorship presentations. In addition we collaborated with local photographers to capture the 23/24 campaign in all its Sunday League glory. In the first full season we have been on board, the club gained sponsorship from iconic indie label Bella Union, were awarded with an Equality Award by the FA, became a Kick It Out Chartered Club - the only non-professional men’s team in the country to do so - and launched a brand new 65th anniversary kit. Forza Dynamos.

A huge part of the project with Dynamos was to do the club justice by telling its story in a compelling, honest and relatable way. Our main point of interaction with potential fans and the grass roots community was of course social media, so we devised a series of variable posts and story templates to take care of the match day and full time notifications. Going deeper, we also designed bespoke carousel artwork to tell the story of the club and its founder members, alongside a player profile series to highlight the footballing journeys of Dynamos team members from around the world.

For the club’s 65th anniversary season, we delved into the archive and the history of the club for inspiration. We returned to the club’s original white shirts with red and black detail to pay homage to the legacy of the first ever Dynamos team, retaining a clean, retro silhouette with the addition of a new woven club crest and Dynamos branding on the neck.

“From the beginning, the Reason For Being team demonstrated a deep understanding of our club’s values and community spirit. They took the time to listen to our needs and our vision for the future, transforming our ideas into a vibrant, cohesive brand that truly represents who we are.”
